Our Mission

In the United Kingdom, millions of individuals, including those in London, continue to grapple with the devastating effects of food poverty. It is disheartening to acknowledge that in a country with so much abundance, a significant portion of the population still struggles to put food on their plates.

Within the Hounslow community, a handful of organisations play a vital role in providing essential sustenance to those in need by offering free food access. However, it's essential to recognise that these lifelines come with their unique challenges. Each organisation operates at specific times, and is constrained by its geographical area, which means that those seeking assistance must plan their visits accordingly and have the means to travel to these venues.

Unfortunately, not everyone has the privilege of mobility or the luxury of complying with opening hours. Many individuals face extenuating circumstances that make it difficult or impossible for them to physically access these food providers. Moreover, there are instances where people find themselves in urgent need of nourishment outside the organisations' operating hours.

This is where The Soup Kitchen operates, providing emergency food to those in dire need. Our unwavering commitment, and our internal systems ensures that nobody in extreme hunger is left unsupported or left to suffer alone.

However, our mission extends far beyond providing immediate food relief. By collaborating closely with our charity partners, we offer capacity-building workshops that focus on financial literacy and management. These workshops empower individuals to gain financial independence and make informed decisions about their resources, ultimately breaking free from the cycle of food poverty.

"Our vision is to establish a physical soup kitchen, and whose proceeds would go to feeding those in extreme need.”
